Abstract

Translating an E-Manual Book Entitled “Owner’s Manual DVD Mini Hi-Fi Audio” for Translation Transfer Jember, Nammira Adjani Ramadhina, F31211018, 2024, 167 pages, English Study Program, Politeknik Negeri Jember, Titik Ismailia, S.Pd., M.Pd. (Supervisor). English is the most spoken language in the world, by both native and non-native speakers. The massive use of English in technology and business sector highlights the importance of translation services in facilitating communication between speakers of different languages. The process of translating from one language to another is known as translation. The translation process refers to the orderly steps done by translators to finish the translation. In contrast to the translation process, translation techniques are the methods translators use to categorize and analyze the translation equivalence. Translation techniques can be used to individual words, phrases, clauses, and sentences. From the explanation mentioned above, the writer decided to use the translation process from Roberts (2002) and combine it with the techniques from Molina and Albir (2002), and Newmark (1988) to translate the e-manual book entitled "Owner’s Manual DVD Mini Hi-Fi Audio”. Therefore, the writer went through three steps of process translation proposed by Roberts (2002): analysis, transferring, and revision. While following the steps proposed by Roberts, the writer also uses the techniques from Molina and Albir (2002) and Newmark (1988) such as literal translation, linguistic amplification, transposition, and borrowing. After the writer completed the project, the writer gave the project to the proofreader to proofread the content. After all the checks, the product met the standards for a translation product, and published on the official website.
