Abstract

The cat, with the Latin name Felis catus, is a four-legged carnivorous mammal whose body is covered with hair. Just like other living creatures, there are many diseases that can attack cats. When they feel sick, cats tend to be alone and stay away from their owners. It is important for owners to always pay attention to the health of their cats, but the problems that often occur are owners not knowing about cat diseases and treating cat diseases, the difficulty of seeing a veterinarian, and the limitations of veterinarians are one of the reasons why this expert system research was built. This website-based expert system is designed to provide information and solutions regarding suspected diseases according to the symptoms experienced by cats. The method used in the expert system for suspected disease in cats is to use a combination of the Forward Chaining method and certainty factor. The Forward Chaining method is a search for several facts to get results that match expectations, while the Certainty Factor method is used to carry out calculations and find the percentage of suspected disease. The results of this research, based on 25 system accuracy tests, obtained an accuracy level of 96%, and based on black box testing, it was found to be 100%.
