Abstract

This research was motivated by the lack of youth interest in agribusiness work in Dukuh Dempok Village, Wuluhan District, Jember Regency. The purpose of this research is to find out and analyze what characteristics young people are interested in regarding their interest in employment in the agribusiness sector and to test and analyze the influence of internal factor variables which include formal education, age, perceptions of parental background, perceptions of farming and external factors which include the environment. social, role of extension workers, facilities and infrastructure on interest in working in the agribusiness sector. The population in this study were youth aged 16 to 30 years in four hamlets in Dukuh Dempok Village, namely Gawok Hamlet, Purwojati Hamlet, Wuluhan Hamlet and Dukuh Hamlet with a sample of 45 respondents. The analytical tool used is a multiple linear regression analysis tool with the help of IBM SPSS 25 for Windows software. The results of this research are that simultaneously internal factor variables (X1) and external factors (X2) have a significant effect on interest in working in the agribusiness sector. Partially, the internal factor variable formal education (X1.1) has a significant effect, age (X1.2) has no significant effect, perception of parental background (X1.3) has a significant effect, perception of farming (X1.4) has a significant effect on interest working in the agribusiness sector (Y) while the external factor variables, namely the social environment (X2.1), have a significant effect, the role of instructors (X2.2) have a significant effect, facilities and infrastructure (X2.3) have a significant effect on interest in working in the agribusiness sector (Y).
