Abstract

The development of information technology has influenced almost every aspect of life, including the field of education. The government uses websites as a means to expand the reach of information and interact with the public and students. This paper discusses the design of the Jember Regency Library website using the Website Usability Evaluation tool (WEBUSE), which aims to produce a better user experience that is relevant to user needs. The WEBUSE method is usedas the main approach in designing this website. The first step in WEBUSE is to understand user needs and characteristics. Through surveys, interviews and direct observation, data was obtained about preferences, hopes and challenges faced by users of the Jember Regency Library website. This information is the basis for identifying the main purpose of the website and the features it must have.By implementing the Webuse method, it is hoped that the Jember Regency Librarywebsite can provide satisfactory results and meet the needs of various users. It is hoped that this website can convey relevant information, facilitate communicationbetween the public and users, and increase public participation in educational activities. Therefore, designing the Jember Regency Library website with Webuse has the potential to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of education in the city of Jember.
