Abstract

The quality of health services in hospitals can be seen from the efficient use of beds. The indicator value of bed utilization at Kalisat General Hospital in 2017- 2022 has not yet reached the Barber Johnson standard. In 2022 the BOR value was 49.84%, LOS 2.62 days, TOI 3.68 days, BTO 58.04 times. This study aims to analyze the factors that cause inefficient use of beds based on a systems approach. This type of research is descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques through interviews, observation, and documentation. Priority of the causes of problems using (Urgency, Seriousness, Growth) USG method and improvement using brainstorming. Data analysis is carried out by reducing data, presenting data, and determining conclusions. The research subject consisted of the head of medical records, 3 nurses, 1 midwife, 2 doctors, the head of medical services, and the head of promotions and equipment. The triangulation used triangulation of sources and techniques. The results showed that the use of beds in Kalisat General Hospital was not efficient. Three main factors causing the inefficient use of beds in Kalisat General Hospital are incomplete medical and non-medical supporting facilities, lack of available doctors and specialists, and lack of promotional activities. Recommendations for resolving the causes of this problem are the provision of CT-multislice, increasing the number of doctors and specialists, create interesting content for promoting Kalisat General Hospital and arrange daily schedule of direct and digital promotion.
