Abstract
Load balancing is a technique used to enhance the scalability of website services by distributing the request load across multiple servers. The advent of container technology allows developers to run multiple web servers on a single server resource, enabling load balancing within that resource. However, it is unclear whether this approach improves or diminishes server performance. Therefore, this study analyzes the performance of Docker and Nginx in load balancing on a server. The research compares the performance of a Docker load-balanced server with a server running directly on the host. Performance testing using JMeter shows that the server running on the host without Docker and load balancing performs better. This is attributed to the lower server load compared to the Docker and load-balanced setup.
