Abstract

This research is qualified of quantitative descriptive research, that aims to analyze the amount of inventory of raw materials Suwar-suwir optimal, safety inventory (safety stock) and the timing of ordering the right raw materials so as to minimize the costs incurred by the company in terms of raw material procurement costs. The problem that occurs from the company is that the company only uses assumptions or estimates in purchasing raw materials. The company also still does not have safety stock (safety stock) and reorder points. The method used in this research is Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) method with production data in 2022. The results showed that in 2022, the optimal amount of raw material orders that can be made by UD Prima Donna is 936 kg with a purchase frequency of 17 times in one year. The amount of safety stock is 276 kg. UD Prima Donna had to reorder when the supply of raw materials in the company is 327 kg. The Total cost of raw material inventory in 2022 was Rp 3.091.153,-. This number shows that the EOQ method is more efficient because there are cost savings of IDR 2.754.177, -.
