Abstract
The government continues to encourage the maximum use of new and renewable energy to reduce the increasing consumption of fossil fuels. One of the innovations that need to be improved today is in the bioenergy sector. The bioenergy sector that can be maximized is more utilization of peanut shell waste, goat manure and banana peels is still not widely utilized. Bioenergy is energy produced from biological organisms or organic matter. In general, bioenergy produces 3 types of energy, namely, biofuels, biogas and biomass. The utilization of bioenergy can produce 3 forms of energy including electricity, fuel and heat. In this study, the 3 raw materials are considered suitable for making briquettes, but it is still necessary to analyze the best composition of peanut shell charcoal and a mixture of goat dung with the resulting banana peel adhesive. In addition, it is also necessary to test whether the halted briquettes is in accordance with SNI 01-6235- 2000. The goal is to find out the best composition of the 3 ingredients used. The stages of this research start from the preparation of raw materials, drying raw materials, pyrolysis of peanut shells, grinding raw materials by sieving method using a sieve with a size of 40 mesh, mixing raw materials according to dosage, printing briquettes, drying, then ending with the process of testing briquette results. The pyrolysis process of peanut shells is carried out for 5 hours, then the drying processof goat dung and banana peel adhesive for approximately 5 days. The best composition of this research is obtained in the 4 variation (V4) with an ingredient composition of 66% peanut shell, 17% goat dung, and 17% banana peel adhesive with the highest calorific value 5338 kal/g, water content 5,1%, ash content 6,15% and compressive strength above 2,25 kg/cm².
