Abstract

In Indonesia, vocational education is developed from high school level which is called vocational high school. There are many vocational high schools in Indonesia that focus on developing students competence and skills. One of them is SMK Negeri 1 Bondowoso. It has two departments which was divided into 8 competencies. Every year, SMK Negeri 1 Bondowoso takes part in information technology competitions. Some of the judges are foreigners. In the competitions, each participant must explain the general description of the school through profile video. Sometimes, the judges did not understand the content of the video because it uses Indonesian narration. So, information about SMK Negeri 1 Bondowoso is not well conveyed and becomes a problem. Based on the condition, the writer subtitled the profile video of SMK Negeri 1 Bondowoso. In finishing this project, the writer did three processes they were transcription, translation, and spotting. In the translation process the writer applied expansion, transfer, imitation and deletion. The product was the subtitled video entitled “Subtitling Profile Video of SMK Negeri 1 Bondowoso”which is saved in “ASS” format. After conducting this final project, the writer was able to apply her English skills in writing and translation when the writer subtitled the video.
