Abstract
CV. Sampoerna Jaya is one of the companies producing seed situated in Curah Rejo, Sukamakmur Village, Ajung District, Jember Regency. This company produces horticultural plant seeds, one of them is rawit seeds. In the quality control towards every seeds produced, CV. Sampoerna Jaya has not applied overall quality control but only uses simple test tools towards water content variable, so the detailed and overall quality control is needed in rawit seeds production process using Six Sigma method. Six Sigma is a tool used to fix the product quality by reducing product defect level through 5 steps: DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control) steps. Based on the research done gained that in the p-chart analysis towards the three variables used as seeds quality test standards, there are no scattering points outside the control limits or below the lower control limits, so the process is said to be statistically controlled. The value gained in the DPMO calculation is 87.875 with 2,85 sigma level which means in every million/unit process produced, there is 87.875 products defect possibility. In the Capability Process (Cp) calculation, for the whole variables gained that the Cp = 0.65 which means the company capability to produce the quality rawit seeds is 65%. The factors causing the defect in this research are human factor, material, method, and environment.
