Abstract

The increasing population of the community has resulted in an increase in demand for green beans so that efforts are needed to meet these needs, it is necessary to increase the production of beans through the use of quality seeds. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of KCl fertilizer application and differences in harvest age on the quality of bean seeds. This research was conducted in October 2021 – January 2022 at farm rowosari PT. Seed Citra Asia, which is located in Dsn. Gardu Timur, Ds. Rowosari, Kec. Sumberjambe, Kab. Jember. The design used was a factorial randomized block design with 2 factors with 3 levels and 3 replications. The first factor is the application of KCl fertilizer. The second factor is the difference in harvest age.. The data were analyzed using the ANOVA (Analysis of Variance) test and continued with the DMRT (Duncan's Multiple Range Test) further test with an error level of 5%. The results showed that the application of KCl 3.5 g/plant had a very significant effect on the weight of 1000 grains of 115.3 g and significantly affected the germination rate of 88.00%. The treatment at harvest age of 27 days after the flower blooms has a very significant effect on all parameters, namely the percentage of seed purity 85.87%, weight of 1000 grains 115.3gr, germination capacity of 88.00%, and growth speed of 15.25%. The combination of the two treatments had a significant effect on the weight of 1000 grains of 115.3gr and germination of 88.00%.
