Abstract
Paria contains several vitamins as minerals and is in great demand by the Indonesian people. The research aims to find out the interaction of plant spacing and shoot pruning on the seed production and quality of bitter melon (Momordica charantia L.) seeds. This research will be conducted from September – December 2021 in the Research and Development (RD) land of PT. Wira Agro Nusantara Sejahtera, Pare, Kediri. The research used factorial Randomized Complete Blog Design (RCBD) with three replications. The first factor is plant spacing, 30 cm x 60 cm, 40 cm x 60 cm and 50 cm x 60 cm. The second factor is shoot pruning, shoot pruning 10th segment, shoot pruning 15th segment, and shoot pruning 20th segment. The data will be analyzed using analysis of variance and continued with DMRT level of 5% (Duncan Multiple Range Test). The treatment of plant spacing 50 cm x 60 cm showed the best result on the parameter seed weight of one fruit 4.67 grams, and seed weight of one plant 22.69 grams. The treatment of shoot pruning in 10th segment showed the best result on the parameter seed weight of one fruit 4,68 grams. The treatment of shoot pruning in 20th segment showed the best result on the parameter seed weight of one plant 23,13 grams. Interaction of plant spacing 50 cm x 60 cm and shoot pruning 10th segment showed the best result on the parameter fruit diameter 6,08 cm, and fruit length 37,5 cm. Interaction of plant spacing 30 cm x 60 cm and shoot pruning 20th segment showed the best result on the parameter seed production 537,16 kg/ha.
