Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine which factors influence student engagement in online classes for students at the Jember Indonesian State Polytechnic. This study uses a quantitative design which is an online survey on Google Form which is distributed to POLIJE students. There are three parts to the questionnaire, the first part is demographic data, the second part is student perception about student engagement in online class and the third part is factors affecting student engagement in online class. A total of 262 responses were analyzed using descriptive analysis in SPSS 26 to analyze the data, descriptive, frequency, correlation, reliability, and regression were performed to analyze the data, and five hypotheses were tested. The findings report that learner interaction, instructor presence, analytical skills, significantly affect student engagement in online classes. Overall, police students have a positive perception of this case. The 5 research objectives have been answered in this study.
