Abstract

Sarcasm comes from the Greek, namely sarcasm which comes from the verb sakasein which means to tear like a dog, biting one's lip in anger or speaking bitterly. The style of sarcasm is included in the language of opposition, so it can be interpreted as the choice of words that have contradictory meanings (Ansari & Hafiz, 2018). Sarcasm is done to insinuate and hurt someone's heart by using language or words that contain positive words but negative meanings so that opinions are often misclassified (Alita & Isnain, 2020). This study aims to detect sarcasm in a comment on Instagram by using Logistic Regression. The ultimate goal of this research is to analyze the level of accuracy that can be achieved by this method.
