Abstract

It is known that most students of Informatics Management study programs have difficulty understanding English-language material. Based on a questionnaire given to students in the Informatics Management study program, 34 out of 46 students stated that they had difficulty in understanding the material presented in English, and 44 out of 46 students assumed that the e-book entitled "Object-Oriented Programming Using Java" need to be translated. Therefore translation project is expected to ease the students who have difficulties in understanding English-language material. The translation is the process by which the translator attempts to produce the same meaning by changing the form of the source language into the target language. To be able to produce translation results with good readability, a series of processes is needed. In this project, the writer translates the e-book on chapters 7, 8, and 9 starts from May until October. The writer uses the translation process from Newmark which includes reading, translating, and revising followed by adapting the method proposed by Vinay and Darbelnet that are direct translation and oblique translation.
