Abstract

The Situbondo Health Center has a medical record room that is not wide enough which can hinder medical record services. The medical record room has 3 storage shelves that are arranged close together so that it prevents officers from taking files. There were no windows or ventilation in the medical record room, so the room felt stuffy. The condition of the storage rack is also full of medical record files due to the increasing number of new patient visits. The purpose of this study was to design a workspace for the medical record unit at the Situbondo Public Health Center which focuses on the physical environment. The research method used is qualitative research with data collection techniques through interviews, observations, and documentation. The results of the study are that the workflow is appropriate, the need for facilities and infrastructure such as storage racks that need to be added to 5 storage shelves for the next 3 years, desks and chairs for officers are replaced with more ergonomic ones. The need for the physical environment to increase ventilation with an area of 1,125 m2 and add a lighting source in the form of 1 lamp with a power of 18 watts. No additional air conditioning is needed because the temperature is still in accordance with the standard. Suggestions from this research is a new spatial design by taking into account the physical environment and the fulfillment of facilities and infrastructure to produce an efficient and ergonomic medical record room
