Abstract

Hepatitis A is one of the epidemic diseases in Indonesia, there are even some areas that have had the status of an Extraordinary Event (KLB), one of them is Jember Regency. In late 2019 until early 2020, Jember District, Sumbersari District experienced an outbreak of Hepatitis A. Because according to the data obtained, Sumbersari District was the area that contributed the most cases reaching 102 cases, so this study took place in that sub-district. The purpose of this study is to find out what are the risk factors which cause Hepatitis A in the region. The research methods that were used are interviews and short messages to respondents who had suffered from Hepatitis A. Respondents were selected based on the results of filling out questionnaires distributed via online. The results of interviews by respondents show that the majority of respondents have done good personal hygiene. However, there is one risk factor that is still being carried out, that is the selection of places to eat that do not pay attention to cleanliness. The conclusion of this study is that the factor of inattentive to cleanliness of choosing places to eat is the cause of respondents suffering from Hepatitis A. The lack of respondents to care about choosing a hygienic place to eat become one of the mediums for Hepatitis A Virus (VHA) to enter the respondent's body.
