Abstract

This research was aimed to investigate the effect of several disinfectant that used for hand disinfection before feeding silkworms code C.301 against cocoon production. The research was conducted at Polytechnic State of Jember from June 2014 to december 2015. Non-factorial Completely Randomized Design was applied for this research which consist of four treatments and five replications. Each treatment that given was the disinfectant that used for hand disinfection those are Water/ no desinfectant (P0), chlorine (P1), Antiseptic (P2), and Potassium Permanganate (P3). Therefore, there were 20 units of experimental unit. He result showed that hand disinfection treatment before silkworm feeding resulting non-significant (ns) differences against parameter of fresh cocoon weight, cocoon shell ratio, and single cocoon weight, while on parameter of mortality and defected cocoon ratio showing significant (*) result
