Abstract

This final project “Developing Vocabulary Tutorial Animation Video for the First Semester Students of English Study Program Politeknik Negeri Jember” is dedicated to the first semester students of English Study Program, Politeknik Negeri Jember. This project was made because I had found that in teaching – learning process of Vocabulary subject only used student’s workbook (BKPM), PowerPoint media, some pictures and dictionary. There was no additional media to support the students in mastering vocabulary. Therefore, I created an interesting media in the form of tutorial animation video for teaching- learning process in vocabulary class. In this case, I focused on the opening of the video and forth chapter. The content of the video is the material about learning vocabulary through guessing. The students could guess the meaning of words by using picture and the context such as phrase and sentence. The writer designed the material that was completed the instructions in using guessing tecnique and it was played by animation character and my voice which are shown at the same time. The product was tried out and got good response from the students of English Study Program Politeknik Negeri Jember. They felt interested when they watched my product to be used in learning vocabulary. It revealed that the tutorial video can help the teaching-learning process of Vocabulary subject. Besides, I can apply my knowledge skill like writing, speaking and computer subject. I suggest to the students of English Study Program to make tutorial animation video with different subject such as structure, writing, reading and other subject.
