Abstract
In this social life, especially in the globalization era, people need to know the procedures of doing table manner (Hasbulloh 2015). In order to know the teaching of table manner in a formal education, a preliminary study was conducted to a culinary art teacher in a vocational high school 3 Jember. I interviewed the teacher of culinary art and asked her about the style of table manner that commonly used and the teaching media. The result of interview was the teacher only used module book as the media. So that, I proposed the video about an American table manner style in English version. But the teacher asked me to give an alternative way because of the students lack ability in English.That was the reason why I chose Subtitling an American Table Manner Video for Vocational High School in Jember. In doing subtitles, I followed seven procedures from Video Caption Corporation. I found difficulties such as when listened the video and wrote the script. This project focused on subtitling video entitled Business Dining Ettiqutte: Passing Food Properly, Excusing Yourself From The Table, Eating Soup and Dessert. As the result, my subtitling product made the students more interested to learn table manner. Besides that, the students understand the material better.
