Abstract

Color blindness is an important activity carried out in the modern era because the ability of the eye to distinguish colors is an important function of vision. Color blindness is a hereditary disease that is expressed in men, but not in women. This disorder will greatly disrupt the activities of sufferers everyday, for example when driving and distinguishing the color of traffic lights. The results showed that there was an ineffectiveness and efficiency of manual examination of color blindness tests and high rates of patient visits. The purpose of this study was to design a color blind blind test application using desktop-based Ishihara examination method to facilitate the work of medical staff. This research is a qualitative research using prototype development methods through steps that begin with the stages of defining the system prototype, creating a prototype system, refining the system prototype, and developing operational systems that use the Java programming language. Data collection is done by observation, interviews, focus group discussion (FGD) and documentation. The application is designed to detect color perception disorders in patients using a special table in the form of Ishihara sheets or plates. The final result of the color-blind examination process uses this application in the form of a certificate of color blindness test results that the patient will receive. The color blind test application using desktop-based Ishihara examination method is expected to help the performance of medical staff to be more effective and efficient.
