Abstract

Background: In organizing food, one of the important things is the amount of food and the standard portion produced, because the amount of food will affect the portion that will be produced. The development of technology will influence the development and change in all aspects. Based on this, the researcher wants to do the preparation of the menu as needed using android based applications because Android is growing rapidly exceeding other operating systems. The purpose of the study was to assess the appropriateness of the Android based application for santri in Islamic boarding schools. Research Methods: using qualitative research through observation and interview methods, with the type of case study approach carried out in 6 Islamic boarding schools in Jember on 7 food menu planning officers. The study was conducted in December 2018 - January 2019. Research conducted to assess the feasibility of android applications using several aspects, they are : system quality, information quality, service quality, users, user satisfaction and net benefits. Results: the applications of Android based food menu preparation can be applied to help making the food menu preparation, giving an understandable information in order that this apps can be useful for work improvement, users can save more time and effort, taking a part on technological developments in order to be accessed easily, and have a positive effect till be able help the officers of food menu preparation in doing their work and santri nutrition can be fulfill as well.. Conclusion: application of Android based menu preparation has a quality information system that is worthy of being used in Islamic boarding schools
