Abstract

This research aims to generate enteral formulas for patients with hepatitis B, using economical raw materials, namely, sugar, palm sugar, red beans, and coconut oil. This research is experimental (True Experimental) using a randomized block design with 6 standard treatment is a comparison between the use of granulated sugar and brown sugar as follows: P1 = 100:0, 80:20 = P2, P3 = 60:40, P4 = 40:60, 20:80 = P5, and P6 = 0:100 with 4 times the replication in each treatment. This research using commercial enteral formulas because it have good nutrition according to the needs of patients with hepatitis B. Testing was conducted to determine whether the raw materials can be used as a formula that contains nutrients and a good viscosity for patients with hepatitis B as well as in the commercial formula, as well as to learn from the 6 level of the treatment, which one has the best formulation or most similar to the commercial formula based on the content of glucose, protein, fat, and viscosity. From the research that has been done, to know that the raw materials can be used as formula. Formula with the first treatment (P1) is a formula that has the best formulation or most similar to the commercial formula.
