Abstract
This study was conducted to determine the effect of administering synbiotics from probiotic Lactobacillus sp. and prebiotic jackfruit seed extract in feed on the quality of KUB chicken carcasses. This research was conducted in the Jember State Polytechnic cage using 100 KUB chickens for 12 weeks, using an experimental method with a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 4 treatment and 5 replications (each replication 5 chickens). Data were analyzed using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA), if there is a significant effect (P<0.05) then continued with Duncan's Multiple Range Test (DMRT). The treatments given include: P0 (no addition/control treatment), P1 (addition of 0.5 ml synbiotic per 100 grams of feed), P2 (addition of 1 ml synbiotic per 100 grams of feed), and P3 (addition of 1.5 ml synbiotic per 100 grams of feed). Parameters measured were laughter weight, carcass weight, percentage of carcass weight, abdominal fat weight and percentage of abdominal fat in KUB chickens. Based on the research results, it can be seen that the administration of probiotic synbiotic Lactobacillus sp. and prebiotic jackfruit seed extract did not have a significant effect (P>0.05) on slaughter weight, carcass weight, carcass weight percentage, abdominal fat weight and abdominal fat percentage in KUB chickens. The conclusion of this study is that the results of the five parameters did not provide a significant effect (P>0.05), but the average results of each parameter were still in the normal category, thus indicating that supplementation of synbiotic probiotic Lactobacillus sp. and prebiotic jackfruit seed extract did not provide a negative effect on the quality of KUB chicken carcasses.
