Abstract

ABSTRACT This research was conducted to determine the effect of fermented shrimp head waste filtrate on the physical quality of laying hens eggs. This research was conducted for one month from Juni to July at the “Keluarga Ayam Petelur” farm in Jambuan-Antirogo Village, Sumbersari District. This study used 40 layer chickens (Loghman strain). The research was carried out using a Completely Randomized Design (RAL) with 4 treatments and 5 replications with factors P0 (without additional shirmp head waste filtrate), P1 (addition of 0,1% shrimp head waste filtrate), P2 (addition of 0,2% shrimp head waste filtrate), P3 (addition of 0,3% shrimp head waste filtrate). The parameters observed were egg weight, egg white index, egg yolk index, egg yolk colour, haugh unit and shell thickness. The research data were analyzed using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and continued with the Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT) if there were significant differences between treatments. The results showed that the administration of fermented shrimp head waste filtrate had a significant effect (P<0.05) on egg weight, haugh unit, and shell thickness, but had no significant effect (P>0.05) on egg white index, egg yolk index and color. egg yolk. The conclusion of the research was that giving shrimp head waste filtrate at a 3% level increased egg weight, haugh unit and shell thickness.
