Abstract

This study was conducted to determine the addition of egg shell flour to feed on the carcass percentage of local kuntara chickens. This study used 100 DOC (Day Old Chick) local chickens. The method in this study used a completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments 5 replicates. The treatment given in this study was the addition of different egg shell flour in each treatment, namely P0 = feed without treatment, P1 = feed + chicken egg shell flour, P2 = feed + duck egg shell flour, and P3 = feed + quail egg shell flour. The parameters observed in this study were live weight, carcass percentage and non-carcass percentage. Data were analyzed using Analysis of Variance (anova), if there were significant differences (P<0.05), Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT) was conducted. The results of this study gave a significant difference (P<0.05) on live weight and carcass percentage but not significantly different (P>0.05) on non-carcass percentage. The best treatment was obtained with the addition of quail egg shell flour at 4% level.
