Abstract

The large number of hotel choices in Malang and the abundance of information make tourists burdened and difficult to determine the hotel that suits their preferences and needs. So, a hotel selection application with a recommendation method is needed, which can make it easier for tourists to determine which hotel to stay in. In this research, using the Content Based Filtering recommendation method in which there is a word weighting with TF-IDF and calculating the document similarity value with Cosine Similarity based on the weight of TF-IDF, besides that the Haversine Formula method is also used to calculate the distance between the user's location and the hotel location. Content Based Filtering testing using test terms gets an average accuracy of 70.83%, while for Haversine Formula testing is done by comparing the results of the Haversine Formula calculation with Google Maps and getting an average difference of 1.7986 meters.
