Abstract

General elections are a characteristic of a democratic country and one of the government's efforts to realize popular sovereignty. However, there is the issue of postponing the 2024 general elections. Postponing elections would have an unconstitutional effect, could erase the spirit of reform in the 1945 Constitution, and could reduce the level of public trust in the government. Various responses and opinions have been poured by the community on social media and produce opinions that are pro and con. This study aims to analyze public sentiment and group it into positive and negative classes using the Support Vector Machine (SVM) method so that the results obtained are expected to be one of the government's considerations in policy making by taking into account public opinion
