Abstract

Toddlers (under five years old) or aged 0-59 months is an important period for learning, growth and rapid development. Toddlerhood should be supported by a fulfilling nutritional situation. This study aims to determine the relationship between maternal knowledge about nutrition and food intake on nutritional status in toddlers aged 24-59 months in the working area of the Mlandingan Health Center, Situbondo Regency. Data on the health profile of Situbondo Regency in 2021 states that there is an incidence of malnutrition of 9.3%. The Puskesmas with the highest percentage of undernutrition is Puskesmas Mlandingan (18.4%). This type of research is observational analytics using a cross-sectional design. Convenience sampling technique with a target of 96 research subjects aged 24 to 59 months in the working area of the Mlandingan Health Center, Situbondo Regency. This study was analyzed using SPSS 16.0 application with univariate and bivariate analysis (Chi square correlation statistical test). The results of the study were that there was no significant relationship between maternal knowledge about nutrition (p = 0.573) and there was a significant relationship between food intake and nutritional status (p = 0.011) in toddlers in the working area of P uskesmas Mlandingan Situbondo Regency.
