Abstract

Wushu Taolu is a sport with an aerobic metabolic system, with high intensity and long-duration exercise that has the potential for dehydration. Several factors that can influence hydration status include body temperature and fat percentage. The aim of this study was to determine the relationship between body temperature and fat percentage and the hydration status of Wushu Taolu athletes. This type of research is observational-analytic with a cross sectional research design. The sample used was the total population of outstanding wushu taolu athletes at KONI Jember in 2024, totaling 22 teenage athletes aged 10-17 years. Data collection used secondary data from Taolu wushu trainers in the form of participants' names, ages and gender. Primary data is measuring body height using a microtoise, body temperature using a digital thermometer in the axilla or armpit, fat percentage using a BIA (Body Impedance Analysis) tool, and hydration status using a urine reagent strip by looking at the BJU (Urine Specific Gravity). Statistical analysis used SPSS 26.0 with the Spearman correlation test. The results of the body temperature with hydration status of Wushu Taolu athletes at KONI Jember show the value sig = 0,618 or > 0,05 there was no significant relationship. The value of sig = 0,421 or > 0,05 in boy's fat percentage and hydration status of Wushu Taolu athletes at KONI Jember that mean no significant relationship. The value of sig = 0,274 or > 0,05 in girl's fat percentage and hydration status of Wushu Taolu athletes at KONI Jember that mean no significant relationship. The conclusion of this study that was no relationship between body temperature and the hydration status of Taolu wushu athletes at KONI Jember and was no relationship between fat percentage and the hydration status of Taolu wushu athletes at KONI Jember.
