Abstract
Diabetes Melitus or diabetes is a chronic disease that is suffered throughout life. Diabetes Melitus (DM) is caused by metabolic disorders that often occur in the pancreas organ with is characterized by increased blood sugar levels of ofren referred to as shyperglcyemia which ia caused by a decrease in the amount of insulin from the pancreas. Diabetes Melitus is a disease that can cause various complications, both macrovascular and microvascular. The aim of this research is to design a short film based on design thinking as a health adeucation medium for people with type 2 diabates melitus in Sumbersari Jember District. This research uses Research & Developmet (R&D) development with uses the Design Thinking development model. The sampling technique used is quota sampling. The results of the serearch, namely metrial validation, received a score of 100% with are criteria of stronghy agreeing and the information not needing to be revised. Media validation received a score of 100% with the criteria of strongly agreeting that it does not need to be resived. The short film media trial activity consisted of a test of acceptability by the subject and obtained a score of 90,67%.
