Abstract

Laying quail feed must meet quality and quantity to affect egg production. Tobacco contains probiotics which there are chemical compounds that are beneficial to livestock and function as feed additives. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of giving tobacco flour (Nicotiana tabacum) on the productivity of laying quail in the layer phase. This study used 4 treatments with 6 repetitions, each repetition using 3 laying quails. Data analysis used a Complete Randomized Design (CRD) and continued with the DMRT (Duncan Multiple Range Test). The treatment given was P0 (without giving control tobacco flour), and P1 (giving 0,5% tobacco powder). P2 (giving tobacco flour 1%). P3 (giving tobacco flour 2%). With parameters of feed consumption, feed conversion, and quail day production. The results of this study showed a significant difference (P<0.05) to feed consumption and feed conversion, while quail day production and egg weight had no significant effect.
