Abstract

The delay in returning inpatient medical records at RSI Fatimah Banyuwangi 25,01% is still far from the standard target for returning medical records, namely 100% within 2 x 24 hours after the patient returns home. The purpose of this study is to analyze the factors causing delay in returning inpatient medical records at RSI Fatimah Banyuwangi. This type of research is qualitative. Collecting data using interviews, observation, and documentation. The validity data using sources and techniques triangulation. The results of delays in returning inpatient medical records based on predisposing factor were caused by the incompatibility education of the officer, the lack knowledge and attitude of officers regarding the completeness of DPJP's signature. Based on enabling factor, caused by the far distance between inpatient room and medical record room and there’s no elevator used to deliver medical record. Based on reinforcing factor, there’s no motivation in form of punishment given to officers who’s late in returning medical records, there are officers who don’t know the physical form and still not understand the SOP for returning medical records. Improvements that can be made are providing training related to returning medical records to officers, socializing to DPJP and nurses regarding the importance of completing medical record filling so that medical records return on time, proposing the procurement of elevators for medical record files, repair the SOP and carrying out routine socialization regarding the returning medical records SOP, providing SOPs for each inpatient room, providing motivation to increase the enthusiasm of the officers' work.
