Abstract

The production and quality of long bean seeds (Vigna sinensis L.) is still low, there needs to be an effort to increase quality seed production, one of which is through improved cultivation techniques using the application of cow manure and the use of mulch. The purpose of this study was to determine the production and quality of long bean seeds with different dosages of cow manure fertilization and the application of various types of mulch. This research was conducted from November to February 2017 using a Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with 2 factors. The first factor is the provision of Cattle Fertilizer with a dose of 30 tons / ha (0.72 kg / plant) (P1), 40 tons / ha (0.96 kg / plant) (P2) and 50 tons / ha (1.2 kg / plant) (P3). The second factor is the use of mulch consisting of straw mulch (M1), teak leaf mulch (M2), and black silver plastic mulch (M3). The parameters measured were plant length, number of productive branches, number of pods per branch, number of grains, length of pods, seed germination, seed growth rate, and simultaneous growth of seeds. The results showed that the best treatment was the use of Cattle Fertilizer with a dose of 50 tons / ha (P3) with the application of straw Mulch (M1) which gave a very significant influence on the parameters of the weight of Dry Beans in the crop.
