Abstract

Utilization of liquid smoke from randu fruit peel as bioprotectant to suppress pest populations in sintanur varieties to find out the pest population by utilizing liquid smoke from the skin of randu fruit as a vegetable pesticide. Liquid smoke from fruit peel contains biomass, namely hemi cellulose, cellulose and lignin where decomposition is a phenolic and acid compound and its derivatives. The first phase of the research was held in November 2017 at the Jember Polytechnic Plant Protection Laboratory aimed at finding out the LC 50 and LC 99 tests on green grasshoppers and stink bugs. Test data using probit analysis with SPSS 15.0 software. Phase two research was carried out in May 2018 to August 2018 in Krajan Mangli Hamlet, Kaliwates-Jember District. The method used is a non factorial Randomized Block Design (RBD) aimed to determine the population of pests, attack intensity, percentage of empty grains, sample weight and perplot weight of various treatments of concentrations of A0, A1, A2 and A3 with 6 replications. The method used to determine ANOVA (Analyze of Variance) and further testing with 5% DMRT. The results showed that the utilization of liquid smoke from randu fruit peel as bioprotectant to suppress pest populations in sintanur varieties was known to be the highest pest population in the A0 treatment, which was an average of 17 tails, while the lowest pest population was on the A3 treatment which was an average of 8 tail. Utilization of liquid smoke from randu fruit peels greatly influences pest populations in rice plants.
