Abstract

Modification of plant spacing can increase population in area units so that it can produce increased production. P decomposition is able to accelerate the decomposition of fertilizers and the nutrient absorption response is getting better. This study aims to determine the production of corn by modifying planting distance and the use of P. decomposers. This research was conducted in February 2019 - June 2019 in Karangpring Village, Sukorambi District, Jember Regency. The design used was a two factorial randomized block design (RBD) with 4 replications. The first factor is the modification of plant spacing with 4 levels: : 70 cm x 40 cm (L1), 50 cm x 40 cm x 80 cm (L2), 40 cm x 40 cm x 80 cm (L3), 40 cm x 40 cm x 90 cm (L4). The second factor is the use of P decoder with 2 levels: without P decoder (P1), giving P decoder (P2). Data analysis using ANOVA and further tested using 5% DMRT. The results showed that the modification of plant spacing had a very significant effect on shell weight. In addition, the use of P decomposers has a very significant influence on the weight parameters of wet cobs, dry weight of cob dry plots, shell weight, and has a significant effect on the weight parameters of dried cob samples and weight of 100 seeds. The interaction between the two treatment factors had no significant effect on all observational parameters. It is better to increase the production of corn plants using spacing 40 cm x 40 cm x 80 cm
