Abstract

Hospital statistics are statistics that use and process data sources from health services in hospitals to produce information and facts related to health services in hospitals. Calculation of inpatient statistics whose activities include the calculation of bed efficiency with several types of indicators, namely BOR, LOS, TOI, BTO is very important to do because it function to control activities in the inpatient unit for planning and reporting, so that calculations must be calculated accurately. However, in Baladhika Husada Jember Hospital, there are still inaccurate calculation, one of the cause is because the inpatient daily census is not used as the data source in the calculation. The purpose of this study is to analyze the causes of inaccuracy in the calculation of the efficiency of the beds use in Baladhika Husada Jember Hospital quarter III of 2018. The kind this study is qualitative, data collection with interviews, observation, documentation, and brainstorming. Result obtain of this study is inaccuracy the calculation of the efficiency bed use are cause by several factors, the factors is man’s knowledge related to the use of the correct formula and never held training, matherial factors include inaccurate register recapitulation of inpatient input, method factors include reporting SPO that is not detailed and machine factors include the absence of SIMRS. Improvement efforts are applying the inpatient daily census, training the reporting officers and making technical instructions for calculating the efficiency of bed use.
