Abstract
The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of adding papaya seed flour (Carica papaya L.) in the feed to the production performance of laying quail and to determine the optimal dose of papaya seed flour in the feed in increasing the production performance of laying quail. Completely randomized design (CRD), with 4 treatments and 6 replications. Each replication consisted of 7 quails, so the total number of quails was 168 with hens at 6 weeks. The treatments used consisted of P0 (control feed), P1 (0.3% papaya seed flour in feed), P2 (0.6% papaya seed flour in feed) and P3 (1.2% papaya seed flour in feed). The parameters observed consisted of feed consumption, egg production, Feed Egg Ratio (FER) and Income Over Feed Cost (IOFC). The results showed that the addition of papaya seed flour in the feed has a significant effect on feed consumption, egg production, Feed Egg Ratio (FER) and Income Over Feed Cost (IOFC). This study concluded that the addition of papaya seed flour (Carica papaya L.) up to a dose of 1.2% decreasing the production performance of laying quail.
