Abstract

General Hospital of Genteng provide of old patient medical record files started when the patient or family registered at place for outpatient registration until the file was intendeed in the service room. Based on the preliminary study in May 2018 at General Hospital of Genteng obtained information about the length time which needed to provide of old patient medical record in 2017 reached 15-20 minutes, meansthat it has exceeded the predetermined standard, which is less than 10 minutes. The purpose of this research was to analyze the main factors inhibiting the provision of old patients medical records in General Hospital of Genteng in 2017. The research method used 5M management elements (Man, Method, Material, Machine and Money). The type of research used was qualitative with thedata collecting were observation, interviews and brainstorming. The research instruments used were observation guidelines, interview guidelines and brainstorming guidelines. The subjects in this reseach were registration officers, outpatient daily census officers, filing officers and distribution officers. The object in this research was the time of provisionold patients medical records at General Hospital of Genteng. The results obtained by researchers related to the main factor inhibiting the provisionof medical record files was the condition of the tools used in the process of provision the patient's medical records less support (the tracer was still manual and the hospital management information system was often interrupted). Efforts to improve that can be done in the provision of medical records of old patients in General Hospital of Genteng in 2017 are improvements to tools such as make of electronic tracers and improvement the quality of SIMRS internet network.
