Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine the influence of aflatoxins on rumen fermentation in vitro and obtained rumen bacterial isolates capable of binding aflatoxin. This trial consisted of three stages. The first trial was a reductionof aflatoxinin therumenin vitro. The secondexperimentwas theisolationandcharacterization ofrumenbacteriathatcouldbindaflatoxin. The third stagewas to testthe holding capacityof aflatoxinbyrumenbacteria. This studyusedcowrumens. The Research design used arandomized complete block design(RCBD) factorial2x3and2replications. The firstfactorwasthe presence ofaflatoxin(with and without the addition ofaflatoxin), the secondfactorwasthe typeof feed(dietandglucose), and thethirdfactorwas the time ofincubation(0 and4hours). The results showedthe presence ofaflatoxin did notaffectrumenconditions (pH, volatile fatty acid (VFA), and rumen lactic acid concentration), and the resultsobtained6isolatesand isolation ofrumenbacteriatobindaflatoxinup to50%
