Abstract

This research aims to see the potential of soy sauce waste as a feed additive in increased quail growth. This research used 200 quails with an average initial body weight of 6.5 grams consisted of 4 treatments and 5 replications, namely P0: as a control, the quail group without fermented soy sauce waste flour, P1: the quail group was given soy sauce waste fermented by 5%, P2: the quail group that was given fermented soy sauce waste by 10%, and P3: the quail group that was given fermented soy sauce waste by 15%. Feed treatment was carried out adlibitum started at the age of one day until harvest. Each replication consisted of 10 rats placed in one cage. This study used a completely randomized design. Parameters measured were feed consumption, feed conversion, body weight growth and mortality. The results showed that the administration of soy sauce wastehad no significant effect (P<0.05) on quail body weight gain, feed consumption, feed conversion and mortality rates. The higher of body weight gain was at P3 of 113.53 gram/bird, feed consumption was 549,2 gram/bird at P2 and the best average value of feed conversion was at P3 of 4.88. The addition of fermented soy sauce waste as an alternative feed can be given up to a level of 15% in feed as a protein source based on IOFC (Income Over Feed Cost) value.
