Abstract

Pengaruh Sistem Pemasakan Kokon Ulat Sutera (Bombyx mori L.) Kode C.301 Terhadap Mutu Filamen (The Effect of Cooking System on Cocoon of Silkworm (Bombyx mori L.) Code C.301 against Filaments Quality) Rizki Fakhri Nurrobi Agroindustry Management study Program Agribusiness Management Departement ABSTRACT The purpose of this study to determine the effect of various methods in the cocoon cooking system in order to improve the quality of the length of the filament, filament weight, reability and rawsilk-percentage. Research conducted at the Polytechnic of Jember, in October 2014. The experimental design that used is non factorial completely randomized design consisted of 4 treatments and replicated 5 times, so there are 20 experimental units. The treatment which given are boiling cocoon, soaking and boiling cocoon, steaming and boiling cocoon and soaking, steaming and boiling cocoon. The results showed that the cocoon cooking system was not significantly different to the quality of the filament. There are several reasons why it is, especially quality cocoon it self. As the method of soaking and boiling the cocoons have the best value for the length of filament and filament weight, those are 747.04 meters for the length and 35.36% for the weight. While the complete method of soaking, steaming, and boiling the cocoons has the highest results for reability and rawsilk percentage are 64.74% for reability and 28.51% for rawsilk percentage.
