Bintoro, MP. ) Yulia Santi Apriani ABSTRACT Natural silk is an agro-industry activities that have a long series of activities ranging from breeding silkworms, mulberry cultivation, silkworm raising, spinning, weaving, batik / dyeing / printing / finishing, garment and other manufacturing of finished goods including marketing. The end result of the maintenance of silkworm (Bombyx Mory L) is the cocoon further processed into yarn and silk fabrics were produced. Sanitation is one of the diseases through hygiene control measures. Therefore, to obtain a clean, hygienic and healthy sanitation measures should be carried out regularly and efisien.The three types of board used in the maintenance of silkworm (Bombyx Mory L) is the type of board that uses straw paper, paraffin paper and newsprint. This study aims to determine the effect of the type of base maintenance on mortality and quality of silkworm cocoons (Bombyx mori L) code C.301.for know sanitizers maintenance on mortality and quality of silkworm cocoons (Bombyx mori L) Code C.301.for know interaction between the base and the type of sanitizer on mortality and quality of silkworm cocoons (Bombyx mori L) code is implemented at home C.301.research silkworm Polytecnic of Jember. For ± 2 months held in January to February 2013. Treatment includes edible paper, paraffin paper, newsprint, each treatment was repeated three times and each plot of each treatment contained 100 birds silkworms with RAK factorial experimental design. Based on the discussions that have been described can be concluded that: The effect of the use of a variety of base type (A) maintenance and sanitation materials (B) on mortality and quality of silkworm cocoons (Bombyx mori L) C.301 code does not affectsignificantly to mortality, percentage caterpillar, cocoon shell percentage ,cocoon percentage of disability and Average of cocoon weight.
