Abstract

The peanut (Arachis hypogaea L.) is one type of legume that is widely consumed by the people of Indonesia. The need for peanuts is increasing every year in line with the rate of increase in the birth rate in Indonesia. According to statistical results, peanut production in recent years has decreased so that it has not been able to meet the needs of peanuts. One of the efforts to increase production are by improving the soil in paddy fields with the addition of organic fertilizers and the use of high-yielding varieties. This research was conducted to determine the effect of organic fertilizers and varieties on seed production and quality. The method has used was factorial Randomized Block Design (RAK) with two factors and consisted of 3 replications. The first factor is the treatment of giving organic fertilizer (O) consisting of 4 levels, namely treatment without giving organic fertilizer/ control, giving vermicompost, giving cow manure and giving chicken manure. The second factor is the treatment of peanut varieties (V) consisting of 3 levels, namely the hypoma 1 variety, the mouse deer variety and the tuban variety. The results of analysis of variance showed that the addition of organic fertilizer had a significant effect on the number of pods, wet weight of pods, dry weight of pods, dry seed weight and pithy seed weight. The varietal treatment showed a significant effect on the wet weight of pods and dry seed weight. Tuban variety is the variety with the best average yield on pod wet weight and dry seed weight. There is an interaction between the treatment of tuban varieties and the treatment of cow manure on the observation of dry seed weight.
