Abstract

Dyslipidemia is a lipid metabolism disorder characterized by an increase or decrease in the level of the lipid fraction in the plasma. Decreased HDL levels are one of the signs that happen in dyslipidemia patients. HDL (High Density Lipoprotein) commonly known as good cholesterol which will carry cholesterol from cells and tissues to the liver and reduce LDL cholesterol in the blood. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of various doses of raw berlin banana flour that contain pati resist and flavonoid to increase HDL levels of dyslipidemic wistar rats. This type of research is true-experimental with pretest – posttest with control group design. This study used 30 male wistar rats aged 2-3 months with a body weight of 150-200 grams aged 2-3 months. Rats were divided into five groups (K-, K+, P1 0.144g/head/day, P2 0.288g/head/day, and P3 0.576g/head/day). HDL levels were checked by the Precipitation method. Data were analyzed using the Shapiro Wilk normality test, One Way Anova test, Kruskall Wallis test, Paired T-Test, and Wilcoxon test. The results showed that there was no significant value between all groups before the treatment was given, there was no significant difference between the groups after the treatment (P=0.512). There are significant values in the (K-), (K+), (P1), (P3) groups but there is no significant difference before and after treatment, there is no significant difference before and after administration of berlin banana flour, no the effect of giving various doses of raw berlin banana flour on the increase in HDL in dyslipidemic rats. Keywords: dyslipidemia, HDL, resistant starch, unripe berlin banana flour
