Abstract
The investigation process is a series of actions by investigators in terms of and according to the method regulated by law to seek and collect evidence with which evidence makes clear about the criminal acts that occurred and in order to find the suspect. An investigator is a member of the police who is authorized by law to conduct an investigation. According to the case, the investigation is divided into 6 division, namely the head of administrative affairs, general crimes, operations, certain crimes and corruption crimes. The quality of an investigator in the Criminal Investigation Agency (BARESKRIM) determines the success of uncovering a criminal case, mistakes in selecting an investigator at BARESKRIM will make it difficult to uncover a case. Therefore, the establishment of a Decision Support System for the Selection of Candidates for Investigating Members of the National Police Criminal Investigation Agency (case study of Polres Probolinggo) is useful as an alternative for decision making byproviding subjective and intuitive considerations on factors that are consideredximportant. These considerations are in the form of giving weight to the multifactorsinvolved using the Multi Factor Evaluation Process method.The results of the calculation through the Multi Factor Evaluation Process methodare the ranking of members where the ranking is seen based on the value givenaccording to the ability of each member. The value is given by the head of eachinvestigation division. The value of the given member is calculated together withthe weight of the criteria given by the head of each division and is calculated using the geometric average.
