Abstract
In the development of Web Services, there are several technologies or methods that can be used, there are SOAP and REST methods. SOAP method in Web Services is designed to be a lightweight and platform-independent protocol for decentralized and distributed environments that use the Internet and XML to exchange information between nodes. REST method in Web Services is a standard web-based communication architecture that is often applied in the development of web-based services, especially Web Services. REST service doesn't limit itself to XML, but rather plain text JSON (JavaScript Object Notation), etc. Test method used to compare the data transfer speed and data size from SOAP and REST is by using CURL. This research is expected to develop a Comparative Analysis of SOAP and REST Methods to Build Web Services in Elementary School Student Assessment Applications. The Test Method used is to compare both requests and responses sent via CURL. By using these two methods, it is expected to find out which method is faster to transfer data ef iciently, ef ectively, and also to use the right method to build Web Services in elementary school student applications.
