Abstract

Indonesia is one of the countries where the majority of the population live as farmers. One of the most basic agricultural crops is rice and corn. Rice and corn are the staple foods of the Indonesian people. Badan Pusat Statistika (BPS) noted that in 2018, the total rice harvested production in Jember Regency was estimated at 745.410 ton GKG compared to 2017. rice production reached 916.992 ton GKG. Rice production in 2018 decreased by 202.582 ton GKG (Badan Pusat Statistika Jawa Timur). There are several factors that cause a decrease in rice production, one of the most detrimental factors in rice production is disease. either infectious disease (due to pathogen attack) or non-infectious disease (nutrient deviation). Disease in rice plants is something that farmers do not want because it causes crop failure and causes farmers to experience a lot of losses. One form of application of artificial intelligence is an expert system. The concept of an expert system is basically a computer program designed to model the problem solving ability of an expert. One of the other expert system technologies is chatbot (chat robot). Chatbot is a computer program designed to simulate human conversations through chat media or chat with robots.
