Abstract

Haematopinus quadripertusus is one of the ectoparasite that can affect cattle. Entirely life cycle of Haematopinus quadripertusus occur in the host’s body. This study was conducted in order to determine the ultrastructural differences characters between nymph and adult stage of Haematopinus quadripertusus. Samples were identified based on morphologic using Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM). Results of morphological identification and ultrastructural were analyzed descriptively. Haematopinus quadripertusus adult stage has developed gonopod whereas nymph has undeveloped gonopod. SEM method can be used to identify adult and nymph stage of Haematopinus quadripertusus.
