Abstract

Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) infection is a global health issue that damages white blood cells and weakens the human immune system, rendering individuals susceptible to various infections and cancers. This study aimed to design and produce an educational animated video titled "The Silent Thorn" to serve as a health promotion tool for HIV/AIDS prevention. It sought to address issues such as low levels of understanding, a lack of interactive educational resources, prevalent misconceptions regarding casual sex, and negative stigma toward people living with HIV/AIDS among students at MTs Raden Fatah Puger. The study employed the Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE model, comprising the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The trial involved a large group of 119 students from MTs Raden Fatah Puger. The study resulted in an educational medium that is both viable and effective. Its viability was confirmed by a 100% material validation score, an 82% media validation score, and a 94% acceptance rate in small-group trials. These results indicate that the "The Silent Thorn" animated video is highly suitable and elicited a positive response from the students. The medium's effectiveness was demonstrated by an average knowledge quiz score of 96.63%, confirming that the educational animated video effectively helps students at MTs Raden Fatah Puger understand and improve their knowledge regarding HIV/AIDS
